Nestled between the Neversink and Delaware Rivers and the Appalachian Plateau and Shawangunk Mountains is the city of Port Jervis. Located in Orange County, New York, Port Jervis is on the border between both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Due to its location, the city has been a center of transportation for centuries.
Native Americans originally used this site as a stopping point on the Delaware River. Eventually, European settlers came to the area and founded the village of Mahackmeck. This village would go on to be a stop on both the D&H canal and the Erie Railroad. The name Port Jervis was adopted by the village in order to honor John Bloomfield Jervis. He is one of the men who were responsible for putting the village on the map. During this time the village was part of the larger town of Deerpark until it split off and became its own city in 1907. The city has continued to grow since then. Port Jervis is now home to a growing industry and a large number of recreational activities.
Pests in Port Jervis
Thanks to the growing number of outdoor activities in the area, people are spending more time outside. While this is a great thing it could as leave people more exposed to pests. One such pest is the is the tick. Ticks are small arachnids that latch on to people and animals in order to drink their blood. If you find a tick on you or a loved one either use a “ticktwister” or tweezers to remove it. Do not try to burn them off because it could have disastrous results. If you find that your yard is covered with these creatures then why not call the Masters. At Masters Pest Control, our tick control experts are trained to tackle any infestation no matter the size. Ask our team about our green tick control program. This program will help make your home a tick free zone.

Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Did not try to “over sell” services that were not needed. Called Masters for possible termite sighting (which they pointed out we did not need) but they found carpenter ants in another location of our house which they serviced the next work day. Just serviced yesterday so will defer final comments until we see results.
