Orange County is home to not just the town of Monroe, but to a village that shares its name. The area was once home to Lenni-Lenape nation. Three tribes made up this nation. They were the Unulactus (the turkey tribe), Minsis (the wolf tribe), and the Unamis (the turtle tribe). When the first settlers came to this area, the Lenape moved into Pennsylvania. The settlement, at that time called Cheesecock, started being built in the 1600s and would become incorporated in 1799. In 1808, the area’s name was changed to Monroe in honor of the 5th president of the USA.
Thanks to this town’s close proximity to the town of Woodbury and its world-famous mall, it sees a lot of tourists. When visiting this area, be sure to check out one of its many parks. If you are visiting in September be sure to check out the Monroe Cheese Festival. This event is held each year in order to honor the famous Velveeta and Liederkranz cheeses that were created in this area.
Pests in Monroe
Being in the Northeast means that this area experiences the four seasons in full effect. Due to this the town is susceptible to seasonal pests. One such pest is the house cricket. House crickets are a type of pest that mostly lives outside, but they will start to seek out warmer places when it starts getting cold. This includes your home. While these creatures won’t bite people there nocturnal nature and constant chirping noises can become an issue. There is a number of ways to prevent these pests from entering your home. One way to deal with them is to seal off any possible entry point into your house. This includes door and windows. If you find that you have an infestation on your hands then call your neighborhood pest control experts. At Masters, we specialize in seasonal pest control.
Trouble with Fleas in your area?
Fleas are very common problem in the northeast. The adult fleas in your house typically make up only 20% of the flea population. The remaining 80% will be in the egg, larval, or pupae stage.

They are on time; they explain what they are going to do; how much it will cost and there are no surprises. I was very pleased with their service and would not hesitate to call them again or recommend their services to someone else.
