Washingtonville

Washingtonville, originally called Little York, was first settled in 1731. While growth in the area was initially slow the area would soon become home to John Jaques, a shoemaker and Samuel Moffat, III, who created a trading post in the area. Thanks to these two men Little York grew in size. In 1817, the settlements name was changed to Washingtonville in order to honor George Washington. Jaques would eventually leave the shoemaking trade and in 1830 he started up a winery. Now know as the Brotherhood Winery, this location is the oldest continuously operated vineyard and winery in America. Thanks to this historic location the village has seen a lot of tourism.

Pests in Washingtonville

Thanks to the winery and the large number of people in this area pest are bound to show up. One such pest is the cockroach. Cockroaches are a type of insect that can be found all over America. While there are over 4,000 different varieties of these pests, only four of them are commonly found in homes and businesses. These four are the America, German, Asian, and Oriental. Cockroach infestations can be hard to identify due to the fact these insects are nocturnal. This coupled with the fact that these insects can live for a month with no food can cause homeowners to be blissfully unaware of swarms of them living in their homes.

With this in mind, you should immediately call a pest control expert if you see one in your home or business. Do not try to deal with this problem by yourself, these bugs are hard to deal with. Afterall there is a reason why they say that cockroaches can survive a nuclear explosion.

If you see these pests in your Washingtonville home or business then call Masters today. Our master cockroach extermination team will deal with these nuisances for you!
