Washingtonville

Washingtonville is considers a village in Orange County, New York . In 1818, Washingtonville was officially established as a village, named after George Washington who was said to pass through the area to water his horse at a trough located under a big Elm tree at the vent of the village. On another historic note, Washingtonville is home to Brotherhood Winery the oldest continuously operating winery, established in 1839.
