Port Jervis

Port Jervis, a city in Orange County, New York is located in between the Neversink and Delaware rivers with a population of 8,828 as of 2010. Due to its location between major waterways, Port Jervis was part of early industrial history and served as a major shipping point for coal. In 1851, the first passenger train– the New York & Erie Railroad was complete. A second railroad, The New York, Ontario and Western Railway continue to bring new prosperity and growth to Port Jervis which allowed the town to official become a city in 1907.
